The Best Mother’s Day Gift

For millions of mothers out there, Mother’s Day can be expressed as a beautiful little nudge of a reminder about how much of a joy it is to be a mom. Each year our children attempt to brainstorm the perfect gift to share with us. They search for the best perfume, jewelry, flowers, and cards. And conjure up the best — or at least most creative homemade brunches and dinners to show us their love. For as much as they want us to know how much we impact their lives, we must share how important they are to ours.

While you’re out celebrating how special your mother is, let it be known that every mother across the globe shares the same known fact — that the best Mother’s Day gift of all is that their children are happy and healthy. With that said, what better way to celebrate your mom’s special day than to boost the endorphins and get the cardio going and exercise with her? After all, a family that plays together, stays together! Working out with each other makes for a wonderful bonding opportunity with your mom, and for moms it’s a great way to connect with your kids. Movement and exercise can be enjoyed by mothers and children of all ages, so get out there and play!


Ways to work out with your mother on Mother’s Day

    Take to the streets: Go for pre and post brunch/dinner walks. It’ll be nice to get some fresh air, and get those endorphins going.

    Dance it out: Play some music you and your mom can enjoy, and have a dance party in the living room!

    Commercial breaks: Turn TV commercials into quick fitness workout routines. You can rotate who gets to lead the workout between each break.

    Green thumb: Team up for some gardening, and plant something new together. It’ll be both a rewarding and fun experience for all.

    Runner’s high: Go for a morning jog together, it’s a great way to motivate and challenge each other while boosting your cardio.

    Dance fitness fun: Take a dance fitness class, where you’ll both get a great workout while having a blast! You and your mother will have too much fun to notice your muscles burning!

    Get outdoors: Instead of spending the day at home with your mom, take her out for some golf, hiking, or a surf lesson!

However way you decide to spend Mother’s Day with your mom, remember that just being there is what matters most. And mothers — make sure your kids know, not just today but every day, how much they mean to you. Smothering them with love never gets old!
